Paling fencing is often used on new build sites or in areas with high winds. At CK Fencing Contractors we can design timber bespoke fencing to suit individual client requirements, or follow architect and client specification. Ranging from 0.9 to 2.4m we can incorporate different spacings, trellis work and additional security features.
We install closeboard fencing to BS 1722 and it utilises feathered boards, overlapped to create a solid, heavy duty appearance, supported on timber rails fixed to timber, concrete or galvanised steel posts. All timber on our closeboard fencing is pressure treated and the height of the fence can be between 0.9 to 2.4m.
Post and rail is one of the simplest forms of fencing on the market. It retains its popularity because it’s good value, very effective and extremely easy to use. If you want a traditional rural look in your garden, or you’ve got a large agricultural fencing project, post and rail fencing could be the way to go. Vertical posts are joined with horizontal rails in this super-simple system. Post and rail fencing can also work as a base frame for wiring for livestock – or lively kids.
Timber knee rail is often used around car parks, parks and retail areas, where the purpose is simply to create boundary demarcation and discourage pedestrians from walking over flower beds etc. It uses 100mm x 100mm rails which are supported on a birds-mouth fixing on 140mm x 100mm posts, secured via 100mm wide metal strap which is secured to the post on either side.
Concrete post & gravel boards fencing can be used with a wide variety of panels and offers exceptional value for money. The primary use for a gravel board is to raise the panel off the ground, and protect the timber from premature damage caused by moisture ingress. If a fence comes into contact with the ground for a prolonged period, moisture can penetrate the surface and cause the timber to rot and decay over time.
PVC systems have the strength, in independent testing PVC proved it has greater tensile strength than concrete posts. The posts are deigned to be flexible and so absorb and dissipate the energy from strong winds. Concrete posts will not flex and can break in high winds and severe storms. Once erected DOES NOT require maintenance for protection against rot and decay. And will weather naturally just like any other outdoor product and will become lighter in appearence over time.
